- Earl Grey School Roots & Shoots in Calgary, AB identified a need for socks at the local homeless shelter then held an event that collected over 800 pairs of socks to donate to the shelter

- Wright House Roots & Shoots in Port Hope, ON organized a "green" Secret Santa to educate about consumption, waste, and environmental stewardship and to reduce the House's environmental impact during the Christmas season
- Oceanside Preschoolers Roots & Shoots in Parksville, BC watched and counted thousands of transient seagulls feeding on herring roe along the seashore
- Carson Graham Roots & Shoots in North Vancouver, BC volunteered with the Salvation Army Kettle Campaign, North Vancouver's Mahon Park Stewardship Group, Carson Graham Secondary School's Adopt-A-Highway initiative and Cape Farewell, an international climate change project
- Nelly Letourneau Roots & Shoots in Ottawa, ON coordinated two holiday parties to benefit animal adoptions, picked up 345 cigarette butts from a local park and organized "Stories and Art" to help young students demonstrate their understanding of literacy links via art projects
- Living Oceans Society Roots & Shoots in Sointula, BC launched its Finding Coral Expedition in search of deep sea corals off the coast of British Columbia to find out where the coral forests are located and what mysterious creatures live there
- Ridgetown Roots & Shoots in Ridgetown, ON learned about why chimpanzees are endangered and held a garage sale to raise money to support the Jane Goodall Institute's chimpanzee conservation efforts
- Ecole Saint Catherine's School Roots & Shoots in Halifax, NS attended a presentation on climate change and water conservation, then installed water reservoirs in every toilet in the school to reduce water consumption; attended a presentation about birds and bird habitat, then planted a wild rose bush in the school garden to provide shelter and food for songbirds; and sold lemonade at the school spring fair to raise money for charity
- CHARGE! Roots & Shoots in Mississauga, ON planted over 70 trees and shrubs at the Sawmill Valley conservation trail and sold stainless steel water bottles to reduce the use of disposable plastic water bottles
