We hope your week is as peaceful and relaxing as this!

This photo shows the power of your support — because Perrine, the rescued chimpanzee seen here, was not this relaxed when she came to the Jane Goodall Institute’s Tchimpounga Sanctuary.

She was paralyzed except for one arm, and the team performed an urgent blood transfusion — one of only two successful chimpanzee-to-chimpanzee blood transfusions that we know of — and provided ’round-the-clock care.

Slowly but surely, Perrine started to recover and her appetite improved — she started to devour papayas, bananas, watermelons, and avocados.

We mean what we said: Perrine’s recovery has only been possible because of your kindness and generosity, and we’re very grateful for your support.

When you donate, when you become one of our Chimp Guardians, and when you share our posts, you are helping rescued chimpanzees like Perrine get the second chance they deserve. To see how you can help, go to JaneGoodall.ca/Adopt.
