With the release of this report, Canadians are welcome to dive into the work that took place over the past year, see the impact that our amazing partners have made, and discover the progress that your support has enabled. The document includes updates on Tchimpounga Sanctuary, community-led conservation initiatives across Africa, environmental projects here at home that have been designed and launched by young leaders, and much more. As our CEO, Bella Lam, wrote: “The breadth of what we’ve been able to accomplish as a community, with each of us doing our part, gives me enormous confidence in what lies ahead. Just like Dr. Jane did, we’re building something that will last. And we’re building it together.” You may ask, who is involved in this work? 100+ Forest Monitors — who started utiziling smartphones in Kenya and Tanzania, allowing them to collect better data for conservation purposes; 1,200+ women — who received training that enabled them to improve agricultural productivity in the Democratic Republic of Congo; 12,000+ young leaders across Canada — who are taking action for animals, people, and the environment through Roots & Shoots; 7,500+ people across Canada — who attended lectures with Dr. Jane and left feeling inspired by the hopeful message she shared; 1,150+ people — who are now part of Team Goodall, our monthly giving program, and who are the foundation at the core of our work; and many, many more hardworking and passionate individuals who are proving that each one of us can make an incredible difference when we get involved.
