When it comes to conservation, our first step is to partner with the local community. Each of our projects is tailored to the needs of local people as well as the plant and animal wildlife in the area. Through consultations with on-the-ground staff, volunteers and members of the community, our conservation strategies discourage dependency in favour of empowerment.
Working together, we make an impact by: restoring critical habitat to save chimpanzees from extinction; improving health for women and girls; cultivating local livelihoods in harmony with nature; and helping young people become the informed generation of conservation leaders the world so urgently needs through our Roots & Shoots youth programs.
