Resource Invasive Species Guide DOWNLOAD THE GUIDE Before you dive into the Invasive Species Guide, learn about native vegetation in the GTA (and the salmon run) with one of JGI’s Youth Advisory Council Members! Invasive species are living organisms that are not native to an ecosystem. For the most part, human activities are responsible for the introduction of nonnative species either deliberately — for example, the introduction of ornamental plants — or accidentally through the transportation of goods and through tourism-related activities. The guide provides information and classroom activities on the invasive species that are affecting Ontario’s forests and conservation areas. Suitable for students, teachers, and adults! I believe we have a small window of opportunity when, if we get together, we can start to heal some of the harm we have inflicted.
