With an emphasis on the 3 global crises listed below, we encourage youth to reflect on the interconnectedness between animals, people and the environment through their Roots & Shoots projects. Biodiversity Loss (Animals) Environmental Inequity (People) Climate Change (Environment) Is the group leading the project First Nations, Métis or Inuit OR is your school/group/organization Indigenous-led or Indigenous-owned?*This year, we will be integrating different Indigenous perspectives into the core of our Roots & Shoots programming. All projects will be encouraged to reflect on the traditional territories on which they reside, to recognize the diversity across all First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples, and further understand the importance of amplifying these perspectives, especially in climate action. Projects will be asked to reflect on these topics within the Year End Report and will be provided with materials to help deepen these learnings.
