They will use their knowledge to teach the rest of the school why they should consider helping them with their project and planting flowers at their own homes. We hope to deepen the students’, and our communities, understanding of our local ecosystem, its history, biodiversity and how to be an environmental steward. We are working with our First Nations partners to develop a seed and plant material distribution plan. Our students have learned to harvest, dry, and collect the seeds so they may be shared with all the schools in the board View project Biodiversity Loss (Animals) School Garden and Wildlife/Bird Observation Station I would love to increase the size of our tiny school garden so that we can begin to provide some fresh food options for our school breakfast and lunch program in the spring (fresh greens) and fall (squash, tomatoes, potatoes).
