A.P.E. Fund Chicken habitat and permaculture Moncton, New Brunswick 7th graders want to help improve the soil in our region. This project will help fund a chicken coop. Chickens will reduce school food scraps and produce compost for gardening. Parts of our lawn will be replaced with compost, native flowers(permaculture). Students will also learn about foraging. Our students have expressed interest in protecting pollinator species in our community. We want to plant a native plant species, build protective habitats for pollinators and ensure the longevity of these species in our community. We will be raising butterflies and releasing them.
