A.P.E. Fund Climate Change Challenge Oak Lake, Manitoba Students in grade 6/7 will complete a series of activities to teach their peers about climate change and how their actions can help make a difference. They will lead a campaign for change in our community by hosting events such as OLCS Earth Hour and recycling items into new products. This project will help fund a chicken coop. Chickens will reduce school food scraps and produce compost for gardening. Parts of our lawn will be replaced with compost, native flowers(permaculture). Students will also learn about foraging. Through workshops & a field action campaign this project will engage, educate & empower these youth to become environmental stewards within their local communities. View project Biodiversity Loss (Animals), Climate Change (Environment) Save Our Salmon (SOS) Our project hopes to educate the youth of our community about salmon conservation efforts and directly involve these students in the salmon conservation effort. Students will work alongside Parks Canada staff to monitor the salmon population. View project
