A.P.E. Fund Community Gardens and Sustainability Lacombe, Alberta We want to use our Tower Gardens and outdoor garden boxes to grow nutritious food supplies and learn about healthy eating. This would also enable the students to learn how to grow their own food and take care of plants and plant life. During this process, we would also visit our local greenhouse. We want to build a garden that is filled with student chosen plants that support local pollinators. The entire school will participate by helping to research, select, and build the garden. The Grade 3/4 class will start a school wide, indoor composting campaign to reduce the amount of food scraps that end up in the landfills.Using Foodcyclers, they will educate the entire school on how the machine works and what items they can put in it.
