Fund Empowering marginalised youth as environmental stewards Toronto, Ontario Toronto has a large population of marginalized youth who are new immigrants, people of colour & are economically vulnerable. Through workshops & a field action campaign this project will engage, educate & empower these youth to become environmental stewards within their local communities. Bundles of plants for school families to make native gardens at home View project Climate Change (Environment) Diverting our School’s Food Waste from Landfills The intention of this project is to bring green bins to each classroom in the school, in order to more effectively divert food waste from landfills. The green bin program will be a great addition to our existing blue and grey bin recycling program at the school. View project Biodiversity Loss (Animals) Plants for Us and for Them (Bees~!) We have already started a garden space in elevated boxes in our school building – we had funds to plants for our climate in one of them. This year we could like to expand/finish our project by building more boxes and planting native species to Alberta that help a healthy bee population flourish. View project
