Fund Miyawaki Forest Project Peterborough/Anishinaabe, Ontario The Miyawaki Forest project engages youth in planning and planting a Miyawaki forest, a complex multilayer forest within a rich organic soil. Indigenous knowledge is combined with innovative forest techniques to re-establish native biodiversity and combat climate change. We would love to bring some hydroponic growers into their classrooms to build on their interest in growing vegetables and to continue to encourage them to try fresh grown produce. They have identified 4 UN goals that they think this project will cover: 16 – peace and justice, 10 Reduced inequalities, 5 Gender inequaity, and 4 quality education. Through workshops & a field action campaign this project will engage, educate & empower these youth to become environmental stewards within their local communities. View project
