Our students have expressed interest in protecting pollinator species in our community. We want to plant a native plant species, build protective habitats for pollinators and ensure the longevity of these species in our community. We will be raising butterflies and releasing them. We currently have over 40 gardens across the Niagara Region. This year we hope to increase our intergenerational native gardens by setting up our team of youth with interested seniors and plant pollinator gardens for them. The food we eat and time in nature have a powerful impact on our health and wellbeing.
